Reviews

45-day review

"This is my 45-day update. Starting with the pros and cons of the machine. CONS: Price, confusing instructions. I can’t do anything about the price, but I can help with the instructions. Read the complete assembly instructions at least twice before you pick up any tool. If I had done this, I know the assembly woold have gone much smoother. Especially take note that the cup holder must go on before the display unit. PROS: The MDX is such a heavy-duty machine, and I can’t put enough oo’s in smooth to describe the operation. I can do my work out any time I want, totally secure in my house. No weather, aggressive dogs, bad sidewalks, or heaven forbid bad people planning to rob or harm me. I do not have to wipe down somebody else’s sweat before working out. I don’t have to travel to the gym. My biggest regret is that I didn’t get this machine 2 years ago. I have gone from the first workout of only 3 minutes on level one to the ‘HILL’ workout at 30 minutes in the morning and ‘INTERVAL’ workout at 15 minutes in the afternoon. I have zero regrets about purchasing the MDX and recommend it 100%."

Exactly what I needed

"First off let's address the elephant in the room, I am 69 years old and fat, I used to walk using trekking poles for exercise and to help with arthritis but have experienced some setbacks with that. Now I can get on my MDX anytime I want, have a zero-impact workout, and not have to worry about the weather, aggressive dogs, or bad sidewalks. Having spent the winter not doing much of anything for fitness, it is a difficult journey to return to mobility. The MDX is the machine to get me there, after just two weeks of use I can already feel a big difference in my hips and knees. The MDX is a heavy-duty beast of a machine, so I expect it to last many, many years. I live in a very small town, only 400 people here, and the closest fitness center is 25 miles away. When I ran the numbers, the Return on Investment for the MDX is only about 1 year, so it became a no-brainer. The only downside was getting the MDX setup. The manual could be much clearer and have greater detail. There were about 3 or 4 steps I had to undo and redo because the manual wasn't detailed enough."

Excellent Customer Service

"Originally I ordered the smaller model HXT and needed to replace with the MDX. The customer service and sales team were extremely helpful and made sure I was satisfied. Now, no excuses!"

Julie S. (5/5)

Disappointing

"I chose this because I’d used it many times in three different physical therapy programs. However, the machine I received is a completely different model and doesn’t match the ad. A phone call wasn’t helpful and in response to my request for a manual I received a company advertising brochure, not the instructions I sought. This model is tall, requiring the ability to step up and is not truly recumbent. The arms are in a position that makes getting on and off difficult and they are looped at the top, making the grip awkward at best. It’s a perfectly ok machine for a tall, able bodied, skinny person who wants arms at their sides rather than in front."

Exactly What We Need!

"Because my husband has numerous medical conditions, exercise has been quite difficult. The PhysioStep MDX came highly recommended by our PT, and we’re definitely delighted. It accommodates my husbands height (6’5”) with no problems, and the larger pedals and seat are an added plus. It’s not a huge piece of exercise equipment as so many others are, so it takes up about as much space as a recliner. I actually look forward to exercising every day. Definitely a great buy!"

Beccy H. (5/5)

Good except for display boot that does not fit. Manual is useless there.

"Step 6 in instructions was incorrect because the boot attaching to the display did not fit. The diameter of the boot tail was too large to fit in the cupholder opening. Calling tech help was no good since they had no answer. I had to completely cut the tail from the boot and let it rest on top of the cupholder assembly. TECH HELP HAD NO SOLUTION FOR ME. The boot could not EVER have been installed as the manual claims it should be."

Darrell C. (4/5)

Good

"Expensive but what I expected."

Autumn W. (4/5)

Happy but would change one thing.

"I'm quite happy with the MDX. Starting off slow, but building to a regular routine. I wish the arms were faster to adjust so that my wife, who is much shorter than I am, could use it and put it back to my config more easily."

James W. (4/5)

Recumbent bike

"The heart rate monitor should be available at ordering. Sturdy, the seat ideally would be larger for obese but tilting the seat back works. I like it!"

Sharon M. (4/5)

Perfect

"This was the perfect exercise equipment for me. I suffer from arthritis and it’s gentle on my joints but gives me an excellent workout! It’s built well and feels extremely sturdy. The workout programs are great!"
